Mill City Farmers Market is Minneapolis’ trusted source for healthy, local and organic groceries, bringing a wide assortment of fresh food, cooking education and live entertainment to one beautiful space. The year-round Saturday Market runs outdoors May through October from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. (9 – 1 in October). MCFM has its Indoor Winter Markets inside the historic Mill City Museum (no admission required) on select Saturdays November through April from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. MCFM is also a non-profit organization that was founded in June of 2006 by farm-to-table chef and restaurateur Brenda Langton, in collaboration with the Mill City Museum. The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) conducts hundreds of surveys every year and prepares reports covering virtually every aspect of U.S. agriculture. Production and supplies of food and fiber, prices paid and received by farmers, farm labor and wages, farm finances, chemical use, and changes in the demographics of U.S. producers are only a few examples. NASS is committed to providing timely, accurate, and useful statistics in service to U.S. agriculture. |

As part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) provides financial and technical assistance to farmers to help farmers with practices that conserve energy, water and soil, or benefit animals, plants and air quality. Through opportunities like the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) and the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), the NRCS pays farmers for using conservation practices. The CSP will help farmers with projects including rotational grazing, pollinator habitat improvement, fencing and water infrastructure. Farmers can apply for funding through EQIP for projects like constructing a high tunnel to extend the growing season, enhancing crop rotation and creating buffer zones. The Conservation Technical Assistance Program is also open to any farmer looking for support in resource assessment, farm design or resource monitoring. Any farmer can contact their local NRCS office for hands-on technical support at any time. The NRCS works with individual farmers and ranchers, landowners, local conservation districts, government agencies, Tribes and volunteers.
